This standard also applies to appliances which, in order to facilitate transport, are supplied in several parts (sub-assemblies) which, when assembled at the place of installation, form a constructional unit without the use of any additional parts. The electrical part of appliances making use of other forms of energy is also within the scope of this standard. For appliances intended to be used in tropical countries, special requirements may be necessary.
